ABOUT

Hey there. My name is Chris. I come across a lot of great
writings and posts as I peruse the internets, and I even
write from time to time, so I deposit those things here.
I hope you enjoy.

DISCIPLE
I can’t get enough of this Jesus guy. Looking at him, I
see what God is like, and I want to know and love him
more because of it, and this makes me want to let others
know about him, too. I grow in this joyful life with my
extended family, Soma Communities, in Tacoma, WA.

HUSBAND & DADDY
I love my girl Steph, and my girls Anna and Emi. I am
incredibly blessed by God through them, because in
learning to love them and be loved by them I see how
flawed I am and how full of grace God is to me, a great
sinner. Through them he is forming me into his image,
and by his grace he’s using me for the same purpose
in them.

DISCIPLER
I have dedicated my life to helping people come to know
Jesus and grow fully in his new missionary community,
the Church. I do that with my Soma Communities family
as I help lead a missional community in NE Tacoma. We are
trying to live as Spirit-led and Spirit-empowered neighbors
here. Please pray for us.

Also, I love what I get to do each day for a living. I work
with Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission, teaching and mentoring
men in the King County jail system. I get to hear about lives
changed by the gospel each day. I also get to keep building
relationship with these guys once they are released, to help
them become part of a solid Christian community so they can
keep growing in Christ and have brothers and sisters help
them get back on their feet. How cool is that?!

APPRENTICE
In all my spare time(!) I am also walking through a 3 year
intensive church-planting apprenticeship with Soma
Communities. It’s called Antioch NorthWest, and it is the
bomb. I am growing in my love for Christ, his Church,
and his mission to unify all things through the gospel.

Oh, and I also dig trail running (see pic @ top), playing
the guitar, fly-fishing, reading, enjoying the various coffee
brewing contraptions at Metronome Coffee, and having the
occasional Black Butte Porter.
